A STREAM of bluish water bends towards the east and cuts the peninsula into the shape of a gourd the tropical rain forest is a forest biological system with the most abundant life forms on earth and the garden is such a survived oasis on the North Tropic and the only large stretch of tropical rain forest in China.  The Tropical Botanical Garden is the largest man made botanical garden with the richest life forms established on this after most stretch rain forest on the Chinese territory. What is particularly worth mentioning is in the comparatively well-protected 90 hectares of rain forests, there are altogether more than 2000 local plant species, which account for 40% of the plants. Moreover, the botanical garden also transplants more than 400 varieties of plants. The peculiar rain forest landscapes, the rain forest scenery, and national forest cultures combine organically on Gourd Island and they bring out the best each other; therefore, they sufficiently represents the harmony in-between man and nature. This is where we find inner peace and tranquility. Our days are filled with exploring the endless routes leading through a bewildering network of trails through orchards, set with tropical fruits of all species. A closer look to plants growing in the garden of Eden: According to research, Chimonanthus can absorb mercury vapor; pomegranate plants can absorb lead vapor in the air; snapdragons, canna, morning glory, gladiolus, carnation, etc. through the leaves of the highly toxic through oxidation of sulfur dioxide into non-toxic or low-toxic sulfate compounds.
