Equipment specifications :

N-valve is used for lightning/over voltage protection of subsequent electrical installations, also for protection against direct lightning. The combined N-Valve is conceived in conformity with classes B and C for lightning protection equipotential bonding according to DIN 0110-1.

The unit is a four pole, circuit containing Varistor arranged in parallel and lightning-circuit-proof spark-gaps.  Varistors  alone are able to discharge surge currents in the range of some 10 000 A (waveform 8/20).

The energy at higher impact currents (direct lightning strike) is discharged by the integrated spark gaps. It causes the flash to blow out (quenching chamber openings at the rear of the housing), which means that special installation conditions must be complied with (section 7).

6. Safety instructions

N-Valve is only to be installed by qualified technicians in accordance with DIN regulations, its use is only permitted under the conditions stated and as shown in this instructions.

Especially note that the opening and otherwise tampering with the equipment is not allowed for safety reasons and invalidates the warranty.

Provisions include the following assumptions :
Installation of N-Valve at premises and cover the
entire premises effectively

Installation is preceded by extensive measurements;

          * S-Valves will be mounted where applicable
          * Special installation conditions apply
          * Solid state design ensures a long lifespan of equipment
          * Inspection 1 year free. Tampering by third parties will
          * Void warranty.
          * Installation will be carried out by experts,
          * equipment supplied by Africasiaeuro Limited
