SILK ROAD HISTORY
Mongolia – The Silk Road refers to the ancient trade routes that began in ancient China and connected Asia, Africa, and Europe.
In logistic terms, the Silk road divides into the land Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road.
The Silk Road on the land began in the Chang’an era, the capital city of the Western Han Dynasty (the Eastern Han Dynasty extended to Luoyang).
The Silk Road is a significant route for economic, political, and cultural exchanges between the East and West.
Its initial role was to transport silk produced in ancient China.
Therefore, when the German geographer Ferdinand Freiherr von Richthofen first named it the Silk Road in the 1870s, it was widely accepted.
On June 18, 2014, the Silk Road “Changan” luxury tourist line from Xi’an began operation.
By some estimates, by 2015, the entire Silk Road route including Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will also be frequented by many tourists.
