Scenes of South of France
The south of France with its famous beaches is famous around the world. The Cote d’Azur who has its name from the Blue sea that is sometimes turquoise is home to cities like Cannes, Nice, Montecarlo, Frejus, St.Raphael, Menton, Villefranche, St. Tropez, Monaco, and many more well-known brands.
Did you know that the South of France has much more to offer than the turquoise colored sea?
We come each year to spend considerable time here during summer holidays. This post has been published on the Cote d’Azur.
Some of the most unusual Earth formations can be found in a three-hour ride away from the coast.
There are many scenic routes via Vence in Southern France, close to Nice, which will make you open your mouth in astonishment. The surrounding areas of Nice alone are a marvel in itself.
Driving up to one of the many mountain passes that are nearby Nice will give you a different view altogether.
To the Gorges of Verdon
The Gorges of Verdon are the Grand Canyon of Europe. Breathtaking beauty awaits you there.
Some of the most incredible shots taken at the Gorges can’t however not express the feeling one gets standing above the deep valley and high gorges that gave it its name.
I will at the slight instance of getting another chance, return to the Gorges to explore them further.
A beautiful day trip will get you there, but there is a caution to accompaany you: The road is full of serpentines and one must not be afraid of heights.
The rest is up to the driver. He needs to be extra careful when steering the vehicle up, and down some of the riskiest roads, one can find in Europe.
