Junshandao - Island of Lost Souls

Introduction

Green are the lawns, overhanging shadows of a thousand years. The island is covered in thick, impenetrable fog, hiding the secrets of lost souls. Junshandao is not for the faint of heart.

Bamboo Forest

I wander through the dense bamboo, the silence broken only by cracking undergrowth. Rain drizzles down on the thick canopy. I pause, a whisper in unfamiliar Mandarin reaches my ear.

The Whispers

Flashes of the past appear — ancient sedans, guards, and empresses. Could they be Ehuang and Nvying? The whispers vanish. Silence returns.

The Imperial Fleet

Dongtinghu’s waters emerge. In the distance, silhouettes of Emperor Shun’s vessel and his entourage. The imperial fleet guards his passage.

The Empresses

Heartbroken, the silhouettes of Ehuang and Nvying scan the distant shore in vain, seeking their husbands lost to Junshandao’s mystery.

Ancient Tales

The deep secrets and tales of Junshandao remain wrapped in silence. Eeriness and beauty co-exist here, where nature cloaks the past in bamboo and mist.

Temple Games

Occasionally, villagers gather for their usual Da-Mahjong around the temple, the only signs of life on this otherwise deserted island.
